Home Grown in Vermont: Vermont Fresh Network Dedicated to Locally Grown Food

Eat healthy and support local producers.

For news and information on locally grown and produced food, turn to Vermont Fresh Network (VFN). As their mission states, they are dedicated to “advancing relationships among farmers, chefs, and consumers to grow markets and eat more locally grown food.” The member-based organization works to support a flourishing local food system for the benefit of our environment, our communities, our health, and the overall strength of the rural economy. This is accomplished by making connections between farmers and chefs.

Vermont Fresh Network participates in collaborative projects to strengthen Vermont’s food system. Part of that work includes representing members in policy discussions. VFN also leads the DigInVT partnership, a group of nonprofit organizations that collaborate on agricultural and culinary tourism. The organization’s website, DigInVT.com, is one of Vermont’s best guides to finding authentic food and farm experiences. It is also the platform for collaborative projects such as the popular Vermont Open Farm Week.
The website also outlines many fun day trips around the state. Round up your friends and explore dozens of culinary trails, including the Vermont Cheese Trail, the Lake Champlain Tasting Trail, Southern Vermont Food and Farm Trail, Downtown Burlington Bar Crawl, and Central Vermont or Burlington Maple Trails.
