Details: Warren Vermont’s Fourth of July Celebration

Warren, Vermont’s 70th Fourth of July Celebration features a down-home organic parade, a big street dance, and lots of great food and family fun. This event is produced by the Mad River Valley Rotary Club. The parade has been called wild, wacky, and wickedly funny. It starts at 10am and lasts an hour or so. It’s also a celebration of freedom of speech, so bring your sense of humor and prepare to laugh at creative political satire.

The theme is “Happy Birthday to US,” and it’s also Sugarbush Resort's 60th year and the 50th for Mad River Glen, so there’s a lot to celebrate. Floats do not need to register; just be at the south end of Warren Village’s Main Street by 9am. Free shuttle buses run from 8am–4pm via Sugarbush Access Road with free satellite parking and frequent bus pick-ups at Lincoln Peak at Sugarbush. You can also park along the perimeter of Brooks Field at the Elementary School.

The street dance and family festivities follow the parade. Along with your patriotic fervor, bring an appetite—you can choose from vendors including American Flatbread, Green Mtn Grillbillies, Skinny Pancake, Scout’s Honor Creamery, Pingala Café, Gracie’s Tamales, and more. Cornerstone Pub will host a beer and wine garden plus a barbecue at Brooks Field at Warren Elementary School following the parade. Live music will feature Sklarkestra at the Warren Store porch and Mad Mountain Scramblers, plus Va et Vient at Brooks Field, a short stroll from the village on the Mad River Path.

Free, supervised kids’ activities will also take place at Brooks Field following the parade.

Events, food, and music start after the parade and last ’til the cows come home. Alas, the Parade Boss says all dogs should stay at home where they will be safe and cool. The same goes for horses.

Food Donation Boxes will be available for donations to the Mad River Food Shelf.

Fireworks begin at dusk at Sugarbush Resort on Tuesday, July 4. Who to thank for all the fun? That would be Warren’s taxpayers and the members of the Chamber of Commerce, along with corporate sponsors Waitsfield Telecom, WDEV Radio, Sugarbush Resort, Mad River Glen, Casella Waste Services, Jamieson Insurance, and Karl Klein, Broker.
