Summer Fun at Vermont's County Fairs

06/17/2014 04:46PM ● By Ryan Frisch
Since the nineteenth century, Vermont’s county fairs and agricultural shows have provided communities with an opportunity to celebrate achievements and enjoy summer. With a combination of serious competition and light entertainment, these shows recognize and reward the hard work and skill of Vermont’s primary agricultural producers and provide a venue for rural families to socialize.

This summer, gather together friends and family and spend a day or two at one of Central Vermont’s county fairs, where there is plenty of fun for everyone. Take a ride at the midway, watch harness racing, pig races, and tractor pulls, see 4-H exhibits, eat fair food, and dance to live music at night. Better buy the weekend pass, because you’ll want to come back for more!
