See How Vermonters Did at the Winter Olympics in Sochi

At this year’s Winter Olympics, Vermont was well represented, reflecting a healthy, and active statewide winter sports program.  From elementary school ski programs, to full time winter sports/academic academies, Vermonters has proven time and again their level of skill is world caliber.

Central Vermont was also well represented.  Four Olympians from central Vermont towns participated in cross country, alpine, snowboarding and Nordic biatholon.


Ty Walker

Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle

Placed 6th in Women’s Slopestyle Semifinals

 

Nolan Kasper

Hometown:  Warren

Men’s Alpine

13th in Men’s Slalom

 

Liz Stephen

Hometown:  East Montpelier

Nordic Cross Country

12th Women’s Skiathalon 7.5k

9th Women’s 4x5k Relay

 

Hannah Dreissigacker

Hometown:  Morrisville

65th Women’s 7.5k Sprint

23rd Women’s 15k Individual

9th Mixed Team Relay

7th 4x6 Relay


In total 16 Vermonters participated in the Sochi Olympics.
